	Family Events Free Weekend & Holiday Events for Children and Families All events are free, except where indicated. Some require a ticket, which can be obtained from the Information Desk in the Main Hall of the Gallery, one hour before the event starts. Please note workshop places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
September - December 2008
For details on individual events, see the calendar below	Family Art Workshops on the third Saturday of the month 11.30 and 14.30 Family sessions exploring portraits in the collections, followed by an art activity. Suitable for children aged 5+ and their carers. Free ticket required and available on the day one hour before the event starts from the Information Desk in the Ondaatje Wing Main Hall. These sessions will last approximately 90 minutes.

Suitable for children aged 3+ and their carers. No ticket required. Meet in the Main Hall. These sessions will last approximately 30 minutes.

November	Saturday 15 November 2008, 11:30, 14:30 Look Out! Families will meet some of the great explorers, travellers and adventurers in our Collection. Then design your own fully-working binoculars so you can make your own discoveries! Suitable for ages 5+. Free ticket required and available on the day one hour before the event starts from the Information Desk in the Main Hall. These sessions will last approximately 90 minutes. November	Saturday 15 November 2008, 14:00, 15:00 The Secret Dancer Hear the story of a little girl and how music helps her to escape one night into a new world No ticket required. Meet in the Main Hall. These sessions will last approximately 30 minutes. See Storytelling For Families information above

December	Sunday 14 December 2008, 11:30, 14:30 Special Christmas Workshop: Deck The Halls Find out about how the Victorians celebrated Christmas before making some decorations to hang on your own tree Free ticket required and available on the day one hour before the event starts from the Information Desk in the Main Hall.
