WOODWARD PORTRAIT EXPLORER
ON CD-ROM
Technical Support
If you experience running the
Woodward Portrait Explorer on CD-ROM, you may find helpful information
in the ReadMe file on the top level of the Woodward Portrait
Explorer on CD-ROM.
The CD-ROM is a 'dual format'
publication - the same disk will work for either Microsoft®
or Apple® Macintosh® operating systems
Technical requirements
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT®, XP
- SVGA colour display or better
(at least 640 x 480 pixels with at least 256 colours, thousands
or millions of colours recommended)
- QuickTime® software, version
3 or later (version 4 is included on the CD-ROM
- 16MB of available RAM (32MB
on Windows NT or Windows 2000)
- 20MB of hard disk space for
installation
Macintosh System 7.0 or later
- Macintosh-compatible colour
display (at least 640 x 480 pixels with at least 256 colours,
thousands or millions of colours recommended)
- QuickTime® software, version

Known issues
The portrait of King Edward VI
by William Scrots (NPG 1299) will not currently display on some
computers. A free download update will be made shortly available
through this support page.
Printing
The printing out of images has
not been provided as a facility. High quality digital images
can be ordered directly from the disk via the web link tab on
each portrait page.
Searching by date
The CD-ROM does not offer any
search facilities by date of work or historical period.
